Romance was definitely in the air on Thursday night when a roll call of America's favourite stars turned out for an awards ceremony in Beverly Hills. Sheryl Crow and her beau Lance Armstrong happily puckered up when they arrived for the GQ Men Of The Year Awards, while former Friends star Courteney Cox and her actor husband David Arquette were likewise arm-in-arm as they made their entrance at the glitzy bash. The two people garnering most attention from photographers outside, however, were rumoured couple Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. The press pack was no doubt disappointed at their decision to arrive for this year's prize giving separately, but that didn't stop the pretty actress from stealing the limelight once she got inside the event.

Indeed bosses at the magazine were so impressed with the 36-year-old, who set pulses racing all over the world when she appeared on the cover of their December edition wearing nothing more than a pair of denim shorts, that they created a whole new prize category just for her. As the annual event's name would suggest, it is staged to celebrate the most outstanding men of the year, but Jennifer has become the first ever recipient of its Woman Of The Year gong.

Among the other big names honoured at the bash were Joaquin Phoenix, Heath Ledger and Philip Seymour Hoffman. British beauty Rachel Weisz was also on on hand on the night, along with Desperate Housewives hunky gardener Jessy Metcalfe.
