Matthew Broderick and his Broadway chum Nathan Lane were both honoured on Monday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The duo, who are currently starring in The Odd Couple on Broadway, shared the stage in the theatre production of The Producers before going on to co-star in the screen version.
On hand to see her husband receive the accolade was Matthew's wife Sarah Jessica Parker, New York chic in an elegantly figure hugging navy blue and white ensemble teamed with red suede killer heels, and Mel Brooks. The legendary director penned the original film version of The Producers in 1968, then adapted it as a Broadway musical in 2001 and again for the current film. "It's a joy to feel like part of a tradition in such a showbiz town," said a beaming Matthew, who also thanked Nathan for "acting so well with me".
Describing his star as "a great honour" Nathan said he was "truly touched" by the recognition.
Mel Brooks, meanwhile, paid tribute to the contribution the two actors have made to both his private and public life. "Without Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick I would be living in a little motel just around the corner here, trying to make ends meet," he quipped.
