He may have been named 2005's Sexiest Man Alive by a US magazine, but Matthew McConaughey still has chores to do like the rest of us. As he went about his household tasks which included taking out his rubbish, the Sahara star was accompanied by a new friend.
Spanish señorita Penelope Cruz shouldn't think their romance is cooling, however, as the 'lady' in question was strictly of the canine variety. The rugged actor was spotted going for a brisk jog along the beach in Malibu with Foxy, who recently replaced Ms Hud, his faithful companion for over a decade.
Earlier this month, Matthew introduced his new dog, a red healer, on Oprah Winfrey's talk show. But it's clear the loss of his previous pooch is still an emotional topic for the heart-throb.
"Ms Hud, that's a good woman there. I got her in a pound in Tucson, Arizona, 12 years ago and then cancer got her," he told the chat show queen. "We went on a road trip from California to Florida and back."
On their return, with further surgery in the offing for his three-legged friend, the Texan hunk was faced with a tough decision. "Ms Hud, do you wanna be a one-legged dog?" the Hollywood favourite remembers asking her. "And she looks up and she says 'Let me move on, Pop,' so we let her move on."
