During her days playing Charlotte in Sex And The City, Kristin Davis was best known for trawling the Big Apple in search of the perfect partner. The pretty actress obviously decided man's best friend would make a better date for her latest red carpet outing, though, as she was escorted by a canine companion when she arrived for the premiere of her new film.
In the movie, which is appropriately titled The Shaggy Dog, she plays the exasperated wife of a man who has a nasty habit of changing into a sheepdog. But in real life the 41-year-old is only too happy to share her home with a few furry friends, as she demonstrated recently by agreeing to adopt four puppies and their mother from a Los Angeles animal shelter.
And fans of her famous TV series will be glad to hear Kristin has named the dogs after the show's characters. "The mother was already named Charlotte," she revealed. "And the pups are Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Mr Big. But Mr Big doesn't answer to his name because dogs need names with more vowels. And I don't call the big dog Charlotte - it's just too weird. I just call her Mama."
What Sarah Jessica Parker's character might think of her boyfriend, Mr Big, snuggling up with one of her pals remains a mystery. But one person who doesn't have to think twice about who they'd rather be cuddling is Robert Downey Jr, who also appears in the new movie. The renowned actor, who made his big screen debut playing a puppy in the 1970 flick Pound, embraced wife Susan Levin repeatedly as they arrived for the screening.
