With statuesque actress Geena Davis as mistress of ceremonies, Sarah Jessica Parker added another feather to her style icon cap this week. The Family Stone star proved she's still got her finger on the fashion pulse when she picked up an award for her best-selling scent, Lovely, at the FIFI Awards - the so-called "Oscars" of the perfume industry.

Earlier in the day Geena also picked up a tribute of her own at the Matrix Awards which recognise women who make a difference. On hand to do the honours was her Thelma And Louise co-star Susan Sarandon.

The actress - who received the accolade for her campaign to increase female representation in the movies - was thrilled to meet up with her old pal. "Susan is ten years older than me and ever since I met her we've been really good friends - she's like my mirror to the future," declared 50-year-Geena. "She looks so natural and wonderful."

Busy Geena is back in the spotlight again with her small-screen role as America's Commander In Chief, a show that continues where The West Wing left off.

The Academy Award winner combines filming the series with raising a family of three. Describing herself as "blessed" to be the mother of four-year-old daughter Alizeh and twin boys, Kaiis and Kian, who turn two this month, Geena says she copes because " you just have to".
