It was very much a family affair when Jack Nicholson and Daryl Hannah turned out to congratulate their friend, legendary music producer Lou Adler as he was honoured on Hollywood's Walk Of Fame.
A key player in the pop business during the Sixties and Seventies, Lou - who is Daryl's brother-in-law through his marriage to her sister Page - beamed with pride as he unveiled his star.
Also supporting Lou at the ceremony were six of his seven sons, who include long-haired rocker Cisco, Mischa Barton's beau, and Nikolaj, whose mother is Swedish beauty Britt Ekland.
The 72-year-old is the name behind iconic acts such as The Mamas and the Papas, Carole King and Sam Cooke. Lou's career credits include producing The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the Monterey International Pop Festival, which brought together Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Otis Redding and Janis Joplin.
These days Jack and his buddy are often spotted sitting courtside supporting the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, but in previous decades they shared a reputation as Hollywood playboys.
Lou is said to have romanced some of Tinseltown's most sought-after women. Apart from the relationship with Britt, he was also linked with Tina Sinatra and singer/actress Michelle Phillips.
