Superman actors Kate Bosworth and Brandon Routh paid a tribute to the series' original hero Christopher Reeve this week by launching an auction of products from the current flick. The T-shirts, posters and autographed dolls were being sold off on eBay to benefit the courageous actor's foundation.

"We are so appreciative that they are celebrating Christopher Reeve's legacy," said Kathy Lewis, who heads the organisation.

Kate arrived at trendy Beverly Hills boutique Kitson to kick off the proceedings sporting her usual blonde locks. The California girl, who wore a wig for the part of sexy journalist Lois Lane, seemed to enjoy being a brunette for a time calling the experience "fantastic".

In Superman Returns - which opens in the UK on July 14 - the Kryptonite crusader, played by Brandon, comes back to earth after a prolonged absence in space. He's faced with the tough challenge of battling Kevin Spacey in the guise of the evil Lex Luthor and reclaiming the love of Lois, who's moved on with her life.
