For leading ladies Julianne Moore and Liv Tyler motherhood has to be juggled with glamorous premieres and long hours of filming. So it's no surprise they were relishing time out in their home city with their gorgeous toddlers this week.
The Hours star, Julianne, looking relaxed in jeans and a green cotton top, smiled happily as she strolled around New York, where she has a townhouse in Greenwich Village, with actor husband Bart and daughter Liv. Flame-haired, just like her famous mum, the three-year-old hitched a ride with daddy while Julianne proudly clutched a piece of her daughter's artwork.
Meanwhile Lord Of The Rings beauty Liv, 28, popped out for a walkabout with her son Milo, who clearly had a trip to the sandpit planned as he was toting a bright pink bucket and spade. Relishing her most important role to date, the proud parent pointed out the sights to her blond-haired boy, whose father is Spacehog rocker Royston Langdon.
Both actresses are currently working on new movies. Julianne is working with Nicolas Cage on Next, an action thriller due out next year, while Liv is shooting Empty City, a post 9/11 story of friendship, alongside Adam Sandler.
