Nicole Kidman has ended months of speculation and announced her engagement to singer Keith Urban. The Aussie beauty confirmed their plans to marry after they appeared together at a United Nations gala on Saturday evening.
The Oscar-winning actress revealed her exciting news to US publication People, admitting: "He's actually my fiancé." Nicole and Country music star Keith, who are both 38, were first spotted together last July, and in November Nicole was photographed wearing a ring on her wedding finger. They spent Christmas at his £2.5-million Nashville estate, but any wedding plans have been kept under wraps until now.
New Zealand-born Keith, who was raised on a farm in Australia before finding fame in the US, has won numerous awards - including a Grammy in 2005. He was first introduced to the Hollywood star at an LA awards dinner, held in their honour by the Australian government.
Nicole, who has two adopted children - Isabella, 13, and Conor, 11 - with former husband Tom Cruise, recently admitted that, after ten years of marriage, her 2001 divorce from the Mission Impossible star came as a "major shock". She has said she still holds enormous affection for Tom who is now engaged to Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes.
