The after party for the premiere of A Prairie Home Companion turned into something of a family affair when Lindsay Lohan arrived with her little brother Cody in tow. At the bash brother and sister ended up hanging out with Meryl Streep's 20-year-old daughter Grace over a game of pool.
In typical big sisterly fashion the Hollywood starlet insisted on giving her nine-year-old sibling, whom she calls "the Codester", some pointers on the match, while chatting with Grace, who appears to be the spitting image of her Oscar-winning mum. Meryl and Lindsay became firm friends on the set of Robert Altman's flick, which is based on a popular Minnesota radio show.
The homely atmosphere at the party was no doubt due to its venue in the quiet Minnesota capital of St Paul's, where the movie was filmed last summer. Earlier in the day the midwestern city rolled out the red carpet for the cast, who made their way to the cinema in a parade of horse-drawn carriages.
Hundreds of fans turned out, including some bearing a sign proclaiming: "Mean Girls Love Lindsay", a reference to the young actress' most celebrated movie. Well-wishers watched as the star gave her horse an affectionate peck after alighting from the chariot. Meanwhile Meryl, also full of joie de vivre, hugged everyone in sight on the red carpet.
