It was the premiere of his wife Sandra Bullock's new movie The Lake House so it was only right that Jesse James had spruced up for the event. With his hair slicked back, and in a dapper suit matched with a white shirt and gold tie, the tattooed TV mechanic was the epitome of Hollywood charm.

The dashing look sported by her husband of one year seemed set to find an appreciative audience in America's favourite sweetheart, who was ultra-elegant herself in an LBD with a cutaway back. The Miss Congeniality actress also adores his rough-around-the-edges persona and colourful body art, though, which she says gives her something to read in bed.

Sandra's latest flick sees the beauty re-united with her Speed co-star Keanu Reeves in a time travel romance. And the actor must have been pleased with the opportunity to meet up with his old friend and her leading man at the screening.

Over in Europe another Hollywood couple was also treading the red carpet. Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, still as reluctant as ever to give too much away about their romance, attended the German showing of The Break-Up, but arrived separately and avoided being pictured side-by-side.

Despite the couple's coyness, the relationship with Vince seems to be doing wonders for the former Friend. A glowing Jen wowed on-lookers as she glided past the cameras in a slinky metallic dress with high heels at the screening in the city of Hamburg.
