Even the man of steel would have been forgiven for going a little weak at the knees when Kate Bosworth rolled up to the UK premiere of Superman Returns in a sizzling backless minidress. The pretty 23-year-old, who plays Lois Lane in the new comic book adventure, set pulses racing in London's Leicester Square on Thursday when she made her entrance in a sequinned Gucci number.
American newcomer Brandon Routh, who portrays the lycra-clad hero, was also on hand to meet the huge throng of fans who gathered outside the cinema, along with Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey, who takes on the role of villainous megalomaniac Lex Luther.
Those hoping to catch a glimpse of Kate's heart-throb boyfriend Orlando Bloom were left disappointed, though, as the hunky actor was busy promoting his latest flick Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. "The fact we both have movies out at the same time doesn't affect our relationship," said the Californian starlet. "We're very supportive of each other."
And the British actor obviously isn't the only one with a penchant for daredevil adventure, as his leading lady faced more than her fair share of thrills and spills on the set of the new movie. "The airplane sequence and the water sequence at the end - they were two of the most difficult action sequences in the film," she revealed. "There were lots of scrapes and bruises."
Her costar Brandon, who originally hails from Iowa, was delighted with the warm reception he received from both local people and the weather. "This is pretty incredible: more people, more intensity, more excitement - more screaming," he enthused. "It's a fantastic turn-out. Everybody seems excited. It didn't rain, which is good, although I guess Superman could do something about that if it did."
