Taking a leaf out of his partner Angelina Jolie's book, Brad Pitt has turned his attention back to philanthropic activities just two months after the arrival of the latest addition to the couple's brood.
Angelina gave an interview about her work as a UN Goodwill Ambassador shortly after having little Shiloh in Africa. And recently it was Brad's turn to take time out from parental duty to encourage New Orleans residents as they rebuild flood-hit areas of the city.
Visibly stunned by the damage still evident almost 11 months on, the 42-year-old Hollywood star toured the Big Easy's Holycross district. "Imagine going through the trauma of this, of watching everything you own being swept away, maybe loss of life, and then sitting in this limbo for a year," the actor said on US TV. "Imagine wanting to get your life back. But not knowing whether it's even possible."
The Troy star used his visit to urge architects to think green in the reconstruction of homes devastated by last year's hurricane. Holycross will be the first area to benefit from a competition to showcase designs featuring renewable resources and solar power.
The self-confessed architecture aficionado led a panel of jurors to select environmentally friendly proposals to revive the stricken neighbourhoods - a project which he's backing with $100,000 of his own cash.
