A host of stunning Brits hit the red carpet in style on Thursday as they attended the UK premiere of Penelope Cruz vehicle Volver. Thandie Newton, Jaime Murray and Sophie Okonedo were among the A-list home-crowd at the London screening.
Oscar-nominated actress and mum-of-two Thandie sizzled in a red-hot strapless number revealing a daring display of décolletage. The Crash beauty wasn't the only one raising temperatures, however, as Jaime Murray, stunning star of hit TV series Hustle, cut a striking figure in her nude-coloured frock.
Penelope also showed off her leading lady credentials in a beautiful pink lace affair by Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera. Fresh from partying on Diddy's yacht in St Tropez, the 32-year-old is taking a well-deserved break after wrapping her latest flick Manolete, in which she shared the screen with Adrien Brody. "It was fun and crazy," she revealed of the rapper's bash. "I don't party too much but that night I was on holiday."
Pen, who recently split with actor Matthew McConaughey, was also pleased to report that she has met Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' baby, Suri. "They are very happy and doing great" said the actress who dated the Mission Impossible star for three years. "I have met her, she's really beautiful" Pen said of the three-month-old who has yet to make her public debut. "She's one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen."
Meanwhile the red carpet was being rolled out Stateside, too, for the world premiere of Oliver Stone's World Trade Center. Glowing mum-to-be Maggie Gyllenhall showed off her growing bump as she attended the screening with fiancé Peter Sarsgaard. She was also joined by her co-stars Stephen Dorff and Nicholas Cage, who was accompanied by wife Alice Kim.
Volver goes on general release in the UK on August 25 and in the US on November 3. World Trade Center opens in the UK on September 29 and in the US on August 9.
