The most anticipated baby photo since Shiloh Jolie Pitt has finally surfaced. Suri Cruise made her magazine debut on Wednesday alongside proud parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in Vanity Fair Magazine.
The cover shows the four-and-a-half-month-old tot cradled in her father's leather jacket with her doting mum looking on. With her shock of dark hair and adorable smile, it's not hard to see why Suri is the apple of her parents' eyes. "She's a glorious girl," enthused Katie. "She's the miracle of our life." Describing the moment the Batman Begins actress first held her, she said: "I was just ready. The feeling is indescribable."
It seems, however, the couple aren't quite in agreement over who Suri takes after. "She has Kate's lips and eyes," says Tom. "I think she looks like Kate." But his fiancée replies, "I think she has Tom's eyes. I think she looks like Tom." During the 22-page "family portfolio" the loved-up pair also reveal the "heartbreaking" and "frustrating" reports they read in the papers in response to their decision not to reveal photos of their daughter until now.
"We were just living our lives, being a family," Tom told the magazine. "Actually we were taking our own photos and always planned to release those." But then "all the craziness began" added Katie. "This 'Where is Suri?' controversy. Tom and I looked at each other and said, 'What's going on?'. We weren't trying to hide anything." Clearly upset by the hoopla, Katie hit back some of the reports. "You shouldn't say that about us, and you can't say that about my child."
In the end they chose famed photographer Annie Leibovitz to shoot their daughter's first official portrait. Having already shot Tom's adopted children with his former wife Nicole Kidman, she seemed the natural choice. "Annie is the only professional photographer who ever shot Bella and Conor as children," the Top Gun actor explained.
The covergirl mum and former Dawson's Creek star has also been spotted enjoying a trip to the shops to pick out a few items for her baby girl. The 27-year-old, glamorous in dark shades and ultra high heels, was accompanied by her mum Kathy and Tom's mother Mary Lee for the Beverly Hills outing.
