British actress Thandie Newton managed to steal the limelight from the other A-list beauties in attendance when she turned out for a magazine event in London this week. The Crash actress had swapped her straight locks for a funky curly hairstyle when she arrived for the exclusive soiree at London's Serpentine Gallery.

The glamorous mum-of-one, who was sporting a sexy strapless number, was by no means the only showbiz stunner turning heads at Vogue magazine's 90th anniversary party, however. Runway queen Yasmin Le Bon, who was snapped chatting to Hugh Grant's girlfriend Jemima Khan, was looking equally chic in a floaty floor-length silk creation. Kate Moss was clad head-to-toe in classic black, as was her headline-friendly beau Pete Doherty.

Society trendsetter Daphne Guinness meanwhile opted for a dazzling white silk ensemble, while flame-haired model Lily Cole opted for a youthful miniskirt and matching woollen top. Among the other famous guests at the exclusive shindig were Gabriella Windsor, Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox and renowned photographer Mario Testino.

Across the pond in the New York Desperate Housewives bombshell Eva Longoria was likewise turning up the heat at a glitzy party. And the diminutive actress, who complemented her sexy black minidress with a striking embroidered coat, was joined by a roll-call of America's favourite female stars at the event, which was staged to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Beyonce was characteristically bootylicious in an off-the-shoulder silk affair, while Ukranian model-turned-actress Milla Jovovich went for a striking polkadot design. Movie veteran Diane Keaton, her usual elegant self in a vintage-style velvet gown, was also mingling at the event, along with L'Oreal model Andie MacDowell.
