Days after watching his daughter Isabella show off her moves on the soccer pitch in LA, Tom Cruise and his fiancée Katie Holmes took their brood to see where the big sporting action happens in Washington.

The Mission: Impossible actor, dashing in a navy suit, was centre of attention at Monday night's Redskins versus Vikings game. His adopted kids Bella and Conor joined him and their soon-to-be step-mum at the American Football extravaganza as celebrity guests of Redskins owner Daniel Snyder.

Even before the start of the game, excitement reached fever pitch as the celebrity count soared. Tom led his family onto the field to meet up with Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx setting flashbulbs popping among the 90,000-strong crowd as the Collateral co-stars gave each other a big hug.

Former Dawson's Creek actress Katie caused a stir of her own, however, looking super svelte after only giving birth in April. And the huge sparkler on her engagement finger caught the eye of the snappers as it glittered under the stadium lights.

It was a case of business mixing with pleasure for her Hollywood heavyweight beau as the Redskins owner and their host for the night, Daniel, is one of Tom's new backers for his movie production company. The Cruise clan, including baby Suri, are staying with the former marketing magnate at his family home and have also made a visit to the businessman's Six Flags amusement park for a day of family fun.
