Recently voted the world's most naturally beautiful person, Sophia Loren showed she still has what it takes to be a pin-up star after the Pirelli calendar was revealed this week. The actress, who was in sultry mode for the shoot, is the oldest model ever to be featured in the famous calendar's 42-year history.
The Oscar-winning 72-year-old, who attributes her timeless looks to a "love of life, spaghetti, and the odd bath in virgin olive oil", appears alongside younger beauties Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts and Hilary Swank in the latest calendar.
Speaking at a press conference in London, she revealed she "had a lot of fun, like a young girl" during the June photo shoot.
To many the La Ciociara actress still holds the same allure as in her 1950s heyday. George Clooney is one of the many men to have fallen for her charms. "She's unbelievably beautiful, unbelievably fun," he said of the sex symbol when he met her in Milan.
The Italian siren is set to reach a whole new fan base judging by the new black and white images of her posing in a slinky, see-through black dress. "You have to be born a sex symbol," the actress once said. "If you are, you'll have it at 100."
