Glamorous co-stars Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey showed how red carpet appearances should be done as they turned up for the Los Angeles premiere of their new film Freedom Writers.
Effortlessly elegant, two-time Oscar-winning actress Hilary set flashbulbs popping in a sheer backless gown as she joined the handsome Grey's Anatomy actor outside the movie theatre. The film, in which Hilary plays real-life California high school teacher Erin Gruwell, who turned her class of at-risk students into a group of high achievers, appealed to the star for its gritty realism. And she admits there are parallels between the onscreen character and her own personality.
"I think I identified with this woman, Erin, because she's an outsider. I've always felt I was an outsider," she explains. "As a kid I felt that I belonged only when I read a book or saw a movie, and could get involved with a character. It was natural that I became an actress because I longed so much to be those other people, or at least to play them."
While the photogenic duo were fulfilling their promotional duties in LA, an equally glamorous pair were helping boost their flick on the other side of the country. In New York Lucy Liu and Nicollette Sheridan were swept off their feet by strong-man co-star Cedric The Entertainer as their new movie debuted on Thursday evening.
Cedric, who delighted onlookers by hoisting the girls into the air, made filming a pleasure according to Lucy. "Cedric is just a kitty. What I love about him is he doesn’t hold himself back... He loves to play and make fun of himself which makes him so accessible."
