As a scheming fashion assistant in The Devil Wears Prada, Emily Blunt's character walked away with a wardrobe to die for, and now the 23-year-old is in the running to take home another prized trophy.
The London-born actress is one of five young actors nominated for a Rising Star BAFTA, the awards ceremony for which will be held on February 11. The prize, which recognises the cream of acting talent, is voted for by the public via text message or the BAFTA website.
Emily faces stiff competition from the other nominees, however. French-born Bond girl Eva Green and Miami Vice starlet Naomie Harris are hot contenders, with Perfume actor Ben Whishaw and The Wind That Shakes The Barley lead Cillian Murphy also lining up for the award.
Last year's winner, James McAvoy, praised the awards for giving the public a say in who wins. "I like the fact that the industry awards its peers, but this is great because it's voted for by the paying public," he said. "The ultimate award is to get bums on seats, and for people to like your movie."
