Having reluctantly become the guardian of a vulnerable youngster on screen in About A Boy, it would appear Hugh Grant is now ready to take the plunge into parenthood in real life.

At the age of 46 the quintessentially English actor, who was once known as London's favourite bachelor, seems to be feeling distinctly broody. "I remember reading a Warren Beatty quote when he finally had children and said what a relief it was not to be all 'me, me, me'," he revealed. "As much as I adore myself, I'm quite keen to find someone else to care about more."

Speaking in an interview with the American edition of Vogue magazine, the performer said he and his girlfriend Jemima Khan wanted to build a traditional domestic life together. And it would seem he already enjoys a warm relationship with her two sons, especially ten-year-old Suleiman. "I've become a cricket mum, actually," he joked. "I started taking the boy to his cricket match on Saturdays, and I loved it. I got way too enthusiastic and competitive."

While there is no word as to whether Hugh and Jemima are planning to tie the knot anytime soon, the Four Weddings And A Funeral star did say he was prepared to become a stepfather as well.
