With her recently updated dark blonde 'do pulled back into a tight pony and a lick of red lipstick perfectly complimenting her monochrome Bill Blass lace overlay gown, Scarlett Johansson was the epitome of Parisienne chic.

Whether or not the actress' polished appearance was inspired by the French capital - where she was introducing her new film The Spirit with Eva Mendez, it was one of several seemingly city-conscious fashion choices she has made on her European promotional trail.

When launching the flick in London on Friday, Scarlett appropriately delivered a look that spoke Darling Buds Of May, with tumbling curls and a pretty belted floral vintage dress. And in Berlin at the start of this week, she made a more edgy sartorial choice of a striking ivory satin skirt teamed with a grey cardigan, matching tights and a pair of classic patent Louboutins.

Scarlett stars with Samuel L Jackson in the movie, which tells the tale of a cop who comes back from the dead to defend his city. It hits both Us and UK cinemas on Christmas day.
