Marching across a bridge in Cape Town, with a rugby team striding behind him, a blonde Matt Damon is almost unrecognisable from his Bourne film series persona.
The scene was captured on film for his new project The Human Factor, which examines Nelson Mandela's attempts to unify the country after apartheid by focusing on the South Africa rugby team's 1995 World Cup triumph.
Matt plays iconic South African rugby captain Francois Pienaar in the flick, which is directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Morgan Freeman as the South Africa's first black president. Both the stars swatted up on rugby for the film, and Matt joined in with training sessions with a local team in preparation.
The film is based on a book by British journalist and author John Carlin, Playing The Enemy: Nelson Mandela And The Game That Made A Nation. The film adaptation was the brainchild of Morgan, who bought the film rights to the book.
