While Hugh Laurie and Cat Deeley experience the bright lights of LA, enjoying palm-fringed swimming pools and year-round sunshine, some British talents like John Simm are happy to develop their career at home. "They know where I am if they want to employ me," is how the down-to-earth Life On Mars favourite replies when asked if he'd considering auditioning in Hollywood. They'd have to wait in line anyway.

John is currently busy on these shores, presenting his children's flick Skellig with co-star Kelly Macdonald. The film tells the story of a boy whose life is changed when he discovers a creature that's part angel and part owl. Supporting them at the screening were comedy sensation Alexander Armstrong and The Deal actor David Morrissey, who was sporting a short new beard. David knows a thing or two about the Tinseltown audition process after getting close to Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct 2. Since then he's returned to high profile roles in Britain such as BBC's 2008 version of Sense And Sensibility.
