There was cause for celebration for actresses Rachel McAdams and Sienna Miller this week as the pair picked up awards at an annual Las Vegas film ceremony where Michael Caine was also feted.

To accept the female star of the year award at the cinema owners' ShoWest gala, Ontario-born Mean Girls star Rachel flew in from New Zealand. She'd been holidaying on the island since wrapping work on Guy Ritchie's movie Sherlock Holmes three weeks ago.

Sienna couldn't have looked happier as she celebrated her best supporting actress gong with lifetime achievement award recipient Michael. The pair, who held hands as snappers captured the moment, have more in common than their shared award triumph. They've both starred in different versions of Alfie, Michael's 1966 hit which was followed by a 2004 remake.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer was also called to the winner's podium. She shared the female stars of tomorrow honour with fellow newcomers, The Hills star Audrina Patridge and Step Up 2: The Streets actress Briana Evigan.
