More than four decades in the business, and British Oscar winner Helen Mirren is still a knockout on the red carpet. The actress' appearance belied her 63 years as she attended the London premiere of her latest celluloid offering State Of Play with Australian star Russell Crowe.
Chic and elegant in a Donna Karan dress and matching coat accessorised with sling-heeled Jimmy Choos, Helen was the focus of attention at the bash as she cuddled her co-star Russell on the red carpet.
Helen plays a ruthless newspaper editor in the crime thriller, and Gladiator star Russell portrays brash wisecracking Cal McAffrey, one of her team of investigative reporters. When he starts to investigate two seemingly unrelated deaths, he begins to discover clues that lead him to a corporate cover-up feasturing dodgy insiders, informants, and assassins.
Forty-five-year-old Russell signed up to make the film – which opens across the UK on Friday - after Brad Pitt left the role a week before lensing was due to begin.
Stars turning out to see the new flick included R'n'B singer Jamelia and Tamara Ecclestone, the daughter of Formula One mogul Bernie Ecclestone and his estranged Croatian wife Slavica.
