Katie Holmes had her hands full this week being both an on and off-screen mum to two little girls, her own daughter Suri and nine-year-old actress Bailee Madison.
The trio spent the day in the small town of Mount Macedon – to the northwest on Melbourne – where the 30-year-old actress and her young co-star are lensing new horror flick, Don't Be Afraid of The Dark. Florida-born Bailee, who has starred in the films Lonely Hearts and Bridge to Terabithia, was no doubt pleased to have been taken under Katie's wing so far away from home.
And Suri, three - who seems to have shot up in height recently and is growing up with a strong resemblance to silver screen star Katie - was happy to share her mother with a new friend. With dad Tom back home in LA – he was spotted cheering on pal David Beckham on Monday – his daughter has been spending her time with Katie on set.
Tom did maka a trip Down Under two weeks ago, though, accompanying his favourite girls to Melbourne.During his stay the Valkyrie actor was seen taking his family to the city's aquarium and zoo, where he treated delighted Suri to some toys. His wife's new film, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, is due for release in 2011 and also stars English-born Australian Guy Pearce.
It tells the story of a young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend, only to discover the house is inhabited by devilish creatures who want to claim her as their own.
