Katherine Heigl and her chiseled co-star Gerard Butler received a very warm welcome from British fans on Tuesday as they arrived in London's Leicester Square for the European premiere of new rom-com, The Ugly Truth.
US beauty Katherine was at her sparkling best for the screening, choosing a sequinned emerald green one-shouldered sheath dress from designer Naeem Khan, set off all the more by her new red hair.
The 30-year-old didn’t stop smiling as she cuddled up to Scottish hunk Gerard while they made their way down the red carpet together. And she had every right to be beaming. While she is herself happily married, Katherine's close proximity to the RocknRolla star made her the envy of all the ladies in the crowd, who cheered and screamed as they caught a glimpse of the handsome actor.
The chance to take an early look at the new film also drew out some native celebrities including Kelly Brook and EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer, who was joined by her 17-year-old look-alike son Charlie. The Ugly Truth tells the story of Abby, a romantically frustrated TV producer looking for Mr Perfect. She ends up working with Gerard's character Mike, a TV personality with strong views on what makes women and men tick.
Despite her co-star's chauvinistic role in the comedy, Katherine insists Gerard – who recently laughed off claims of a relationship with Jennifer Aniston - is still a romantic at heart. "Gerry doesn’t talk about it that much, but I see a romantic soul in there," she said. "I think he's a wine and flowers kind of guy."
