Her father Heath Ledger would be bursting with pride. Walking to school with her mother Michelle Williams the day after her fourth birthday, the Australian star's little girl looked like she'd shot up and become much more grown up. It's nearly two years since the Brokeback Mountain talent died, and Matilda's vibrant presence has provided some consolation for his nearest and dearest.
Actress Michelle recently said: "Every time I really miss him and wonder where he's gone, I just look at her". Heath's father Kim has also spoken of how like her dad she looks: "She's beautiful. Yes, she is [looking more like Heath]. Of course she is."
The actor's legacy also lives on his work as fans were reminded in bitter-sweet style when his last film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was released earlier this month. Meanwhile, an Australian rapper who was a boyhood friend of Heath has just released a music video the star directed shortly before his death. N'fa Forster-Jones, a pal of the star since they were toddlers in Perth, explained in an online posting that the video was made in the garage of Heath's beachside apartment. "He gave me a call one morning, as he often did at crazy hours, and he's like, 'N'fa, I've got this idea for a video'," said the rapper.
"He was basically running around directing me on each shot," he said. "It was a really cool day."
