Courteney Cox's marriage to David Arquette has officially come to an end. On Tuesday, their marriage was dissolved by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. The couple, who are parents to daughter Coco, eight, announced their split back in October 2010, but waited until June of last year to file for divorce.

The two met on the set of horror film Scream in 1996 and were married in June 1999. Both Courteney, 48, and David, 41, requested joint legal and physical custody of their little girl, and have remained on good terms despite the end of their marriage.

"He's my best friend in the world. I love him," Courteney said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January. "I appreciate David more now than I ever did. "I mean it's hard," she continued. "I don't recommend divorce in general, but he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed. I think we both appreciate each other more. I hope he does. I do."

Speaking shortly afterwards, David told People, "She's incredible. I love her too, and she's an amazing person, a beautiful person."
