Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise joined forces on Monday to celebrate the incredible career of producer Jerry Bruckheimer as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The two leading men, both 50, were on hand to support the filmmaker at the ceremony, posing by his side for photos as his plaque was unveiled.
Johnny, dapper in a brown pin-stripe suite and blue sunglass, paid tribute to Jerry in a heartfelt speech. "These days, the word legend gets bandied around all too easily, but not here and not today," he said. "My path was fortunate enough to collide with this man some years ago, and certainly since my collaboration with Jerry, my life has never been the same, and probably won't be for a while. "Without Jerry, there would be no Pirates, there would be no Captain Jack, there would be no revived Lone Ranger, there would be no reinvigorated Tonto. So I have a lot to thank him for. "Tom, who worked with Jerry in Days of Thunder in 1990 and looks set to shoot a sequel to cult classic Top Gun with him, looked delighted to be at the ceremony, clapping enthusiastically as the man behind films like The Rock, Bad Boys, Armageddon, Flashdance and Beverly Hills Cop was feted.
Jerry, 69, has also achieved huge success on the small screen, and the TV world was represented by Marg Helgenberg, a former star on one of his shows, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.Isla Fisher, who worked with him on the 2009 film Confessions of a Shopaholic, Jon Voight, director Gore Verbinski and Bad Boys actor Martin Lawrence were also there.
