No return for Michelle Keegan as Coronation Street character to be killed off

October 17, 2013

Bad news for all those Tina McIntyre fans, because Michelle Keegan's Coronation Street character is to be killed off, according to reports.

Show bosses are planning to kill off Tina McIntyre in a twist which is set to get the nation guessing – who did it?

"They've been weighing up whether to kill Tina off and now believe it's the way to get maximum ratings," a source told The Sun

"It will set up a cliffhanger leaving viewers guessing who killed her. But Michelle's fans will be devastated as it means Tina will never be able to return.

"The brunette beauty announced back in April that she was leaving the ITV soap after six years to try her hand at new roles.

"Post Corrie and work-wise, I want to try other acting roles," said Michelle, speaking to the Daily Star's TV Extra

"I may also do some travelling as well if I get the time and the opportunity," she said.

And the 26-year-old already has plenty on the horizon. Aside from her acting career, Michelle topped FHM's Hottest Woman on TV poll earlier this month – and wedding bells are ringing as she is set to wed her reality TV star beau, Mark Wright. Sources close to the pair confirmed Mark went down on one knee during a romantic holiday in Dubai last month, the exotic location where they got together nine months ago, and Michelle excitedly tweeted the news.

"THANK YOU for all the lovely messages, and yes it's true @markwright_ and I are engaged!! We are so SO happy :-) xxx," wrote the bride-to-be.

The couple – both 26 – are said to be "blissfully happy" after Mark's proposal, which took Michelle completely by surprise.

He asked the all important question on a beach, presenting his girlfriend with a sparking ring – which he has designed himself and has been describing to friends as a "monster rock" – thought to be a five-carat diamond.
