Strictly Christmas special lineup revealed

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special lineup has been revealed.

The six celebrities battling it out to be king or queen of the ballroom are Saturdays' songstress Rochelle Humes, musical star Elaine Paige, DJ Sara Cox, Bros singer Matt Goss, Eastenders' actor Ricky Norwood and comedian Rufus Hound.

The celebrity contestants will perform a special yuletide routine in a bid to be crowned 2013 Christmas champions and lift the famous silver star trophy.

On Monday night the lineup was officially confirmed on It Takes Two.

Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly preside over the merry proceedings, and judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood will be on hand to dish out some Christmas cheer and scores.

All six celebrities are said to be big fans of the show.Former S Club Juniors singer is no stranger to the Strictly dancefloor. The new mum took part in Strictly Come Dancing for Children in Need in 2010 up against McFly's Harry Judd.Rufus also wowed audiences during Let's Dance for Comic Relief in 2010 where he famously morphed into Cheryl Cole and taking on her Fight For This Love  routine.

Singer Matt Goss from 80s boyband Bros has already appeared on the show this year. He performed his band's hit single When Will I Be Famous  earlier in the season.

Professional dancers Robin Windsor, Pasha Kovalev and Ian Waite will partner the female celebrities, and Aliona Vilani, Janette Manrara and Flavia Cacace will partner the male celebrities.

The pairings are as follows:

  • Rochelle Humes — Ian Waite
  • Sara Cox — Robin Windsor
  • Elaine Paige — Pasha Kovalev
  • Matt Goss — Aliona Vilani
  • Ricky Norwood — Janette Manrara
  • Rufus Hound — Flavia Cacace

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will be broadcast on Christmas Day on BBC One.
