TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh has been hotly tipped to join Celebrity Big Brother, alongside her co-star Sam Faiers.
The brunette beauty, who recently revealed that she was taking a break from the Essex reality TV show, could be paving the way to enter the Big Brother house in January.
News of Lucy's departure sparked speculation on Twitter, with one viewer writing, "Lucy leaving TOWIE and isn't celebrity big brother starting soon?! #coincidence."
"Bet Lucy's gonna be in celeb big brother next year and that's why she's leaving TOWIE," posted another.
Sam is also favoured to enter the house, and has reportedly landed a six-figure sum to star in the show. TOWIE producers are said to have allowed Sam to go on, provided that she comes back for filming afterwards.
Lucy and Sam's appearance on Celebrity Big Brother would follow in the footsteps of their co-star and Lucy's ex-fiancé Mario Falcone. The reformed bad boy came fifth on the show which aired over summer.
Rumours first emerged that Lucy was calling time on her TOWIE career after she was left frustrated with the way she was portrayed.
The 22-year-old was caught in a love triangle between Mario, who she broke up with after he allegedly cheated on her several times, and her new beau and co-star Tom Pearce.
The brunette beauty reportedly felt that her storyline was making her look "stupid" and decided to take a break from the on-screen drama.
