Michelle Keegan, who has just been shortlisted for the NTA Serial Drama Performance award, has spoken about the "daunting" feeling of leaving Coronation Street. The 26-year-old actress, who has starred on the popular soap as Tina McIntyre for six and a half years, will see her character killed off in May. "Corrie is all I've known since I got into acting," Michelle told HELLO! Online. "I'm really excited because it's going to be a massive, explosive ending. "It's not been an easy decision to make and it's taken a long time for me to say 100 per cent I'm definitely going, but I've got my head round it now and I know that I made the right decision. I'm excited for it now to say goodbye not only to Corrie but to Tina."

Michelle, who announced her engagement to former TOWIE star Mark Wright in September last year, is destined to have another incredible year ahead.Kicking off the new year with a nomination, Michelle added that she had made a few resolutions and had many things to look forward to. "I'm trying to get rid of my comfort blanket [which she's had since she was a baby] and to be more prompt with time. I'm doing quite well with the comfort blanket. I don't have it as much now. "My New Year's wish was just to be happy and see more of my family and friends because these past two years I've been so busy working."

The brunette beauty added that one of the things she'd miss most about fame would be "making people smile.""If they ask for a picture, you see in their face they get so excited," she said." That's a nice feeling. And the charity stuff as well, with Help for Heroes, and I visit Manchester Hospital a few times a year. "You can experience things that you'd probably never experience in your life and you can take people you love along with you as well. "Hopefully in ten years' time I'll still be enjoying what I'm doing in my career," said Michelle. "By then obviously I'd like to have a family, be married. That's it really, just to be happy."
