See the 'hot' favourites tipped to win at the National Television Awards.

On Wednesday night the biggest stars of the small screen will gather at London's O2 arena for the National Television Awards, hopeful that at the end of the night they will walk away with a coveted NTA trophy.Ahead of those all-important announcements, we can reveal some of those tipped to win big at this year's ceremony.Over the past 12 months, Virgin Media's The Hotlist has been analysing viewing figures — measuring sentiment, audience figures and tweets — to predict who is set to take home a trophy in popular categories like Best Soap, Comedy, Presenters and Drama.

Ant and Dec look set to continue their reign as the nation's favorite entertainment presenters, and are expected to walk away with the NTA trophy for their 13th year running.The big upset on the night will be in best soap category.

Emmerdale will end the dominance of rivals EastEnders and Coronation Street and win the coveted trophy, according to Hotlist.

Miranda Hart is predicted to pip Mrs Brown's Boys to the post in the comedy category, pushing last year's winner into second place.

Doctor Who is up for an award in the Best Drama category

And the Christmas Day Doctor Who special is set the steal the show in the best drama category from ITV rivals Downton Abbey and Broadchurch.

When it comes to the battle of the reality shows, there will be disappointment for Simon Cowell. His shows Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor look set to be pushed into second and third place respectively by Strictly Come Dancing.

There is another fiercely fought battle between two very different audiences in the Factual Entertainment category. Currently The Great British Bake Off is tied with Top Gear, making those last few hours of voting all the more important.
