Viewers of The Voice were treated to incredible performances by Adele's distant cousin Georgia Harrup and McFly star Danny Jones' sister Vicky Jones, in Saturday night's episode. Both singing hopefuls impressed the panel of four coaches – Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am – but it was Team Tom that they opted to go for.
Georgia Harrup and AdeleGeorgia, 27, took to the stage in a multi-coloured mini dress and belted out her soulful rendition of the Ray Charles classic
Hallelujah I Love Him So.The West Yorkshire singer, who only discovered that she was related to Adele five years ago and has met the Grammy winner once before, has previously spoken about her famous relative. "My cousin is amazing and I am in total awe of her," said Georgia. "But I want to be known for me, for my voice and for my sound and I am ready to show the world what I am made of."
Sir Tom Jones' teamAfter belting out the ballad, Georgia was given a place on Sir Tom's team and tweeted her excitement. "SO proud to say that I am officially now a TOM BOMB #teamtom #tombomb @BBCTheVoiceUK #mairead #sally #cellestine #vicky," she wrote, mentioning her fellow contestants on the team.
Danny's sister Vicky, meanwhile, also made a point of proving how much she deserved a spot in the competition. The red-haired singer spoke about her McFly star brother just before delivering a powerful take on Bon Jovi's
Bed of Roses.
Vicky Jones and Danny Jones"My brother and I both have the same sense of humour — we're both stupid," said Vicky. "He is incredibly talented and I'm really proud of him but today is all about me finally. "I didn't ask Danny to come today. I need this opportunity as much as anybody. Believe me I have been trying for ten years. "Sir Tom and Kylie both turned around just before Vicky reached the end of her song, with Kylie commenting after, "I would be a bag of nerves up there but you didn't sound nervous one little bit. You totally nailed it.""As the song went on you got stronger," said Sir Tom. "I got to feel what you were doing and I loved that. And that's why I turned around. I think you're a great singer and I think we could work well together."
