Julianne plays 50-year-old Alice, a professor who heads into a downward spiral as she learns she has early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

When she begins to forget her favourite recipes and becomes lost in her own garden, she comes up with a desperate plan.23-year-old Twilight star Kristen plays her daughter Lydia, with whom Alice bonds with in a way they hadn’t yet done.

Kristen was wearing a pair of baggy jeans with a zip up hoodie and army jacket, while Julianne was sporting slippers along with jogging bottoms and a sleeveless gilet with jumper.

The actresses looked a world away from their red carpet appearances.

Julianne has been spotted filming alongside co-star Kate Bosworth, who dyed her hair red for the film, and will play another of Alice’s daughters. Hunter Parrish will play her son and Alec Baldwin will take on the role of her husband.

Kristen has had a quiet few months as she has focused on her burgeoning fashion career.

She was named as the new face of Chanel late in 2013 before jetting to the brand’s Metiers D'Art Paris-Dallas show in Dallas, watching the show from the front row and wearing the Chanel Spring 2014 collection.

Last week the actress was rumoured to be in talks with Nike as their new front woman, thanks to her love of their trainers which she is often spotted wearing on the red carpet.

Four time Oscar nominee Julianne has also signed on to star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part and Two, which are slated for release in November 2014 and 2015 respectively. Still Alice is set for release in 2015.
