Ricky Wilson has confirmed that he hasn’t yet been asked to return to The Voice but reiterated his previous opinion that he wouldn’t want to return without Kylie Minogue.

Last month Ricky said he would only return to the British version of the show if his fellow judge Kylie returned as well, but she later announced that she would not be returning and would instead be going on tour.

Ricky said: "I haven't been asked yet, for a start," before adding: "People keep telling me rumours of who might join the panel and I'm not sure there'd be a space for me. It would definitely depend on the coaches."

The Kaiser Chiefs frontman admitted that the chance to work with Kylie was one of the main reason that he signed up to the show in the first place, and has said he can't imagine doing it without the pop princess.

"It would be weird doing it without Kylie. She helped get me over the edge", said Ricky, who was prescribed medication to help him overcome his fears of the live shows. "Kylie, Tom Jones and will.i.am were a huge part of the experience. If I do it again I will definitely miss her”, he told The Sun newspaper.

The BBC show has been renewed for another two years, but the 36-year-old also added: "I'm due to have lunch with The Voice bosses at some point."

Kylie was hugely successful on the show however revealed to her fans that she would not be returning in a tweet to her followers which read: "#Lovers, due to timing of my tour! I won't be back next season for The Voice UK Thanks to all who supported! Hope to see you on my KMO tour!"Ricky’s band the Kaiser Chiefs are currently on tour throughout Europe following their latest album going straight in at number one in the UK charts. They recently revealed that they will headline the 02 arena in London early in 2015.
