Star Wars 7: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill reunite for new film

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher andMark Hamill will all appear in Star Wars: Episode VII, the new film in the franchise. The trio became household names after the first Star Wars movie in 1977, and are set to reunite in the upcoming sci-fi epic.

Other actors confirmed are Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow , alongside British newcomers John Boyega,, 22, and Daisy Ridley .Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker will return as C3PO, Chewbacca and R2-D2 respectively. Episode VII will start filming at Pinewood Studios in May ; it is the fifth Star Wars movie to be shot in the UK.

A picture of the new cast — including R2-D2 in a crate — was posted in the official Star Wars website on Tuesday.

JJ Abrams, director of the highly-anticipated film, said, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, one again." We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.." Star Wars: Episode VII is due in cinemas on 18 December 2015.
