The Expendables 3 cast celebrate the upcoming release at Cannes Film Festival

May 19, 2014

Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas, and Mel Gibson were all in Cannes this weekend to celebrate the upcoming release of The Expendables 3.

Joining the three action stars were Jason Statham, Twilight star Kellan Lutz, Wesley Snipes and Dolph Lundgren, as the cast attended a lunch hosted by luxury Swiss jeweller de Grisogono who went on to gift the actors with their own watches.

The jovial cast were pictured in high spirits as they enjoyed lunch as the guests of de Grisogono founder and designer Fawaz Gruosi at his terrace at the hotel Martinez in the afternoon sun, before heading on to the Croisette to walk the red carpet for the premiere.

Joining Sylvester and Mel were Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also star in the film. The cast posed for photographs and waved to the waiting fans before heading to the official cast dinner party. Wearing a shiny lavender suit jacket paired with a more traditional white shirt and black bow tie, it was Sylvester who stood out from the crowd, while Harrison and Arnold looked to be having plenty of fun as they talked animatedly.

The Expendables 3 is released this August, and brings back the Expendables team who come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney (Sylvester Stallone). Conrad subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Conrad, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy.
