Paul Walker's younger brother Cody, who has stood in for the late actor on previous occasions, could be playing a more permanent role in the Fast and Furious franchise. Earlier this year Cody took on Paul's character Brian O'Conner to film the final scenes of Fast and Furious 7. According to the MailOnline, producers have decided to retire Paul's character and instead Cody "will join the crew" in a new role.

"Of course, Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody is so likeable and charming," a source told the website. "It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the Fast and The Furious movies." The news came after Paul and Cody's other brother Caleb, who has also stood in for the late actor, was pictured on the set of Fast and Furious 7 in Los Angeles. Caleb, 36, was seen acting alongside Jordana Brewster, who plays his on-screen love interest. The co-stars appeared to be in high spirits as they took a break from acting and shared a joke with the film crew.

The film appears to end on a positive note as just last month Cody was spotted sharing a poignant moment with Jordana and their on-screen son. The trio were seen clasped in a family embrace on a beach in Malibu, and Cody was later pictured picking up the little boy and running along the sand with the child on his shoulders.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker
The cast and crew still seem to be feeling the loss of Paul on set, as actor Vin Diesel posted a heart-aching message on Facebook. "Six months have passed… and I still go to the Fast Seven set every morning half expecting to see my brother…," wrote Vin alongside a photo of himself and Paul. "Count your blessings… the blessing of brotherhood...". Paul tragically passed away in November 2013 after he was involved in a car crash with his friend, who also died in the accident.
