Grace, Princess of Monaco, was an American film star who gave up her career at the age of 26 to marry Prince Rainier of Monaco and enter her duties as princess.
After embarking upon her acting career at the age of 20, in 1955 the blonde beauty headed the U.S. delegation at the Cannes Film Festival and while there, was invited to participate in a photo session at the Palace of Monaco with Prince Rainier III. She began a correspondence with the Prince, and when he visited the US later in the year, he proposed after spending three days with Grace and her family.

Seven: Grace won seven awards in her short six year career in Hollywood, including three Golden Globe Awards and an Academy Award for her role in the 1955 film The Country Girl.11:Fourteen Hours was Grace's first film in 1951, and she went on to star in ten more, alongside stars such as Clark Gable in Mugambo, James Stewart in Rear Window, Cary Grant in To Catch A Thief , and High Society with Frank Sinatra.

3000: When Grace and Prince Rainer married in Monaco in 1956 the celebrations were hugely elaborate. The palace was full redecorated for the wedding and for the arrival of the 3000 guests that were invited.
800,000: Grace and Prince Rainier had two wedding ceremonies, a civil ceremony and a religious ceremony. On the evening of the civil ceremony, Grace attended the Monaco Opera wearing a gown made of hand-embroidered white silk organdy, with a V-shaped decollette, a high waistline, a full bustle in the back, and was decorated with 800,000 sequins and 1,500 pearls and rhinestones.
