Announcing the news on both Twitter and Instagram, Caroline wrote: "I have a lil announcement." She then posted a picture of her statement, which read: "Heyyyyyyy! After three brilliant years of hosting Xtra Factor it's time to pass the baton."
It's been incredible and I'll never forget it. How can I when I am married to Louis Walsh? It's all he ever talks about at home.
The news comes just a day after Mel B was announced as the fourth judge
"I wish the new team all the best and look forward to watching the new series." Caroline started fronting the show in 2011 alongside former The X Factor runner-up Olly Murs. He left the show in 2013 and was replaced by Matt Richardson.
It comes hours after it was confirmed that Mel B will be stepping in as the fourth judge in The X Factor.
The former Spice Girl will join a judging panel that includes Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh for the 11th series of the show.
Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are also part of the judging panel
Mel appeared as a guest judge on the programme in 2012. Speaking about her new role she said, "I've always thought honesty is the best policy when being a judge and that's what I'm going to bring more of this year – whether it's spotting an incredible singer, giving someone a reality check or debating with Simon over who's got it wrong! "Now I can't wait to get started and find some amazing talent." Simon said: "I am thrilled that Mel B has agreed to be a judge on The X Factor this year. I thought she was fantastic as a guest judge a couple of years ago. She is feisty, opinionated and, I believe, will be a great mentor."
