Benedict Cumberbatch is looking forward to photobombing himself when he finally gets his own Madame Tussauds waxwork.

The 38-year-old actor revealed that the figure is currently being made and he has been heavily involved in the process.

"Finally I can photobomb myself!" he joked making reference to a funny occurrence earlier this year.

The actor was referencing a shot of U2 taken at the 2014 Academy Awards in which he jumped up behind the band members to join the photograph. "What a weird and wonderful compliment to be included in the ranks of talent already committed to wax. I've been accused of being wooden in my work but never waxy!", he added.

In his latest work, Benedict plays genius Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.

The first two trailers for the highly anticipated flick were released on Monday and the tense drama shows how Turing broke the Enigma code at Bletchley Park during the Second World War, helping to bring the conflict to an end and paving the way for modern computers. SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEOS

These two trailers, one a short teaser and the other a longer two and half minutes show the problems he faced - including distrust from officials to his homosexuality - during his time as a code-breaker.

Bletchley Park, where the code was broken during World War Two, was recently visited by the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton.

It was a poignant trip as Kate's grandmother worked there during the war. The park has been undergoing a restoration for the past year and the buildings have now been returned to their original WWII appearance. Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley also stars in the film as fellow code-breaker Joan Clarke and is joined by Matthew Goode and Mark Strong. It was announced on Monday that The Imitation Game will open the 2014 London Film Festival.
