"We decided to be of that time when we could imagine he was in the European theatre and I was in the Pacific theatre and we wrote hand-written letters to each other

that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months if not years at a time back then", Angelina revealed to Australia's TV Week magazine. The A-list couple are rarely apart, making sure only one is working at any one time, and moving the whole family to the location where a film is being produced. However in this instance, there were several thousand miles between them.

Angelina said of her partner: "He was supportive from a distance and it was quite romantic in a way. "Both Brad and Angelina will be heading into the crucial Oscars release date season at the end of the year with their two war dramas.

Unbroken is the true tale of Louis Zamperini

- an Olympian who became a prisoner of war during WWII.

Angelina spent several years trying to get the film into production, and finally got her pet project off the ground, with British rising star Jack O'Connell as her leading man.Set in the final months of WWII, Fury follows Brad's battle-weary sergeant Wardaddy and his tank which often goes behind enemy lines for the Allies.

Filmed entirely in the British countryside, the film is directed by David Ayer and also stars The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal, The Avengers' Mark Ruffalo, and Shia LaBeouf.
