Amelle Berrabah nails iconic Dirty Dancing pose in Tumble rehearsal

August 5, 2014

Amelle Berrabah looked like she was having the time of her life as she rehearsed for the BBC's new gymnastics show Tumble.

The former Sugababes star, 30, headed to her local Guildford Lido on Tuesday to practise some moves with professional gymnast and her partner on the series Doug Fordyce. Wearing a white crochet bikini that showed off her washboard abs, Amelle showed no difficulty in perfecting the iconic Dirty Dancing pose as she was lifted above Doug in the water.

The scene immediately evoked memories of the 1987 chick flick, which starred the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Amelle couldn't wipe the smile off her face as she channelled Jennifer's much-loved character in the film Frances "Baby" Houseman. The singer was pictured in fits of laughter as she splashed around the pool with Doug and soaked up the sunshine. Amelle has previously given fans a glimpse into her rigid practise routine, which has involved her braving the hoops upside down in various postures. "Hanging with my best friend Doug! #SongFromTheHanover #ComesToMind looool! @dougfordyce @daveroy1012 #Tumble #TeamAmelle #Crikey lol #SummerTime ✌️," Amelle captioned an Instagram shot of the pair in full swing.

The brunette beauty will star as one of the celebrities in the BBC's new talent show that launches on Saturday night. Competing alongside Amelle will be TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh, former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, Loose Women's Andrea McLean, EastEnders actor John Partridge and Ian 'H' Watkins of 90s pop band Steps, among other famous faces. The show will be presented by Alex Jones of The One Show.
