An exploration of a celebrity-obsessed world, it is a case of art imitating life for British actor Robert who found his personal life became public following the success of the 2008 film Twilight.

Starring Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, and John Cusack, the film follows the Weiss family, a Hollywood family which includes a 13-year-old son earning $5million dollars a week, and an estranged daughter (Mia), who has just been released from a psychiatric hospital.

Getting caught up in their family drama is a neurotic actress (Julianne), who would do anything to play the role that her mother made famous in the 1960s, and a wannabe actor named Jerome (Robert).

Robert, who starred in five Twilight Saga films, first worked with David Cronenberg, known for his horror films, in 2012 for Cosmopolis. The film premiered at Cannes Film Festival, and the pair got along so well they decided to work together again in 2014's Maps to the Stars.

Originally from South-West London, the 28-year-old actor had his first taste of fame when he starred in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005 and now lives in Hollywood, but he recently revealed that he had to move out of the house that he fell in love with because of the paparazzi.

"They photographed anyone who came up to the gate, anyone who rang the bell, and they followed any car that came in and out," he told Esquire magazine. "I used to dress up my assistant as me, and get him to drive off with like five cars following him around for hours."

He considered Toronto and New York, but decided that after seven years in the United States, there was no reason for him to move back to the UK.  "My friends are all having kids and stuff, it’s a totally different life," he said, before adding: "And I like people who want to actually make things and do stuff. In England, it’s so difficult that most people just give up."

Maps To The Stars is out in the UK on 26 September.
