Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein gave Harry Styles the chance to star in his new movie Tulip Fever in which the One Direction singer – fans get ready – would have shared an onscreen kiss with Cara Delevingne. 1D heartthrob Harry would have also starred opposite the likes of Judi Dench, Christoph Waltz, Zach Galifianakis and Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.

Unfortunately Harry, 20, had to turn down what would have been his acting debut due to touring commitments – his boyband are currently on their Where We Are world tour. The famed producer, whose company is behind blockbusters such as Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction and Shakespeare in Love, told MailOnline: "I offered Harry a role in Tulip Fever but he was touring so he had to turn it down. "The part ended up going to (Glee star) Matthew Morrison and let me tell you this, the very first scene he shot was one of him kissing Cara Delevingne."

"So I'm sure Harry won't be turning be down the next role I offer him," he quipped.

When asked what made him offer the pop star the role, Harvey said: "He's like Errol Flynn, he's got that swashbuckling charm. Definite star potential. I think he'd be great. No question." Directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl), Tulip Fever is set in 17th-century Amsterdam and centres on an illicit love affair between an older artist and his wealthy young muse.
