Scott Mills surprised radio listeners when he confirmed live on air that he will be joining Strictly Come Dancing this year.The award-winning presenter was speaking to Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood and radio host Chris Stark on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show when he made the announcement. "My listeners are so used to me playing pranks that they're probably going to think this is just another one," said Scott. "It's not, I really am doing this!"

He added: "I'm honoured to be part of the biggest show on television and hoping this could be the start of a brand new skill for me. When I was younger, my nan danced the foxtrot and waltz and it would be great for me to learn those dances, but I will be out of my comfort zone. Whatever happens, I'm really looking forward to the weekly fake tans!"
Mark Wright confirms Strictly rumoursScott, 40, also took to Twitter to reveal the news, captioning a photo of himself with the message, "So yes it's true I am doing @bbcstrictly this year. Keeeeeep dancing. So excited/nervous."
The Eastleigh-born DJ, who currently hosts the weekday early afternoon show on BBC Radio 1 and the weekly Official Chart Update, has been working with the station for over 15 years.
